Your Phoenix Orthodontist

Dr. Paul Serrano

Dr. Paul Serrano, your Phoenix Orthodontics specialist, having grown up in the East Valley, is proud of his Arizona heritage. Most of the Serrano uncles, aunts, and cousins are still running family businesses across Maricopa country.

Serrano Orthodontics is truly a practice that focuses on the entire family, from children who could benefit from interceptive treatment, parents who need a ‘tune-up’ with Invisalign to grandparents looking into treatment for obstructive sleep apnea using the most therapeutic oral appliance available.

The ‘family’ in family orthodontics doesn’t stop there! Dr. Andrew partnered with Dr. Serrano and both doctors are looking forward to when Emily Serrano joins the practice after she finishes dental school.

Phoenix Orthodontics

Dr. Andrew Serrano was born and raised in the Valley of the Sun. Chasing cooler weather, he attended Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, where he majored in biotechnology.

Not only did he excel in the classroom, but he also thrived on the football field, earning All-Ivy Honors as team captain his senior year.

Dr. Andrew returned to Arizona to complete his doctorate degree at Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health. He remained to complete his master’s degree in public health and his postdoctoral residency in orthodontics.

Phoenix Braces

Traditional braces in the Phoenix AZ area are one of the most efficient orthodontic tools we have. They're made out of metal or ceramic brackets that are attached to the teeth, then connected by wires and tiny rubber bands or elastics. These brackets, wires, and bands work together to apply the gentle pressure that will gradually move the teeth into the positions we want them to be in if you have regular adjustments with our doctors.

Braces are an excellent choice for correcting complex tooth issues. Because they can sometimes work faster at aligning teeth and closing gaps than other treatments might, overall treatment time may be slightly reduced. Braces don't need some of the more complex technology or expensive equipment that newer treatments can, making Phoenix braces a cost-effective orthodontic option.

Phoenix Invisalign

Invisalign is incredibly popular with both patients and orthodontists and is the top alternative to traditional braces. Instead of brackets and bands, Phoenix Invisalign system uses a series of clear, removable aligners to gradually straighten your teeth.

Invisalign aligners are made of a comfortable plastic material and customized to fit snugly over your teeth. In order to keep your teeth moving in the direction you want them to, you'll generally need to switch your invisible trays out every 1-2 weeks for the next in the series. The Invisalign system can only work if the recommended guidelines are followed exactly! Aligners should be worn 20-22 hours per day throughout treatment. If patients neglect to wear the aligners as directed, it can impede the results and also add time to the orthodontic process.

Invisalign is at its most efficient when correcting many of the most common orthodontic issues. For some complex cases, Invisalign may not be a good option. A free consultation with Serrano Orthodontics will allow us to determine your Invisalign eligibility.
